The 95B.1 2015-2018 3.0 and 3.6L Macans have been plagued by a coolant leak issue. This kit completely replaces OEM Part 946-106-026-060. The original part is entirely plastic, which will inevitably become brittle and damaged with age and heat cycles from the engine. This can cause a catastrophic leak. Lucky Macan owners will smell coolant and catch this leak before the line completely ruptures. Others have been stranded roadside with a completely empty coolant reservoir and urgent warnings from the car to cease driving to prevent engine damage.
If your Macan has ~60k miles or more, this may be considered an item for preventative maintenance. If your Macan has a coolant leak, this may be the first part to check.
This important line runs from two easily accessible fittings on the front of the engine, then underneath the intake manifold to the back of the engine. It then ultimately finds it's way to its appropriate fitting on the coolant reservoir.
The RADHAUS 95B.1 Coolant Vent Line Bypass kit replaces the unreliable plastic components of the OEM line with parts that are designed to last longer than the life of your Macan. In addition, this kit re-routes the line across the front of the engine, and clips into the OEM port on the coolant reservoir. Best of all, no need to remove the intake manifold. Installation is now much faster and less complicated - saving significant time and labor costs.
This plug-and-play kit features:
- Custom, CNC machined, black anodized aluminum fittings
- Aluminum T-Fittings
- High temperature silicone tubing
- OEM style quick connect fitting to coolant reservoir
Inspired by the resourcefulness of the Macan community, this re-routed line has been successfully tested on dozens of Macans over the past few years, recording success over tens of thousands of miles. Previous DIY efforts to reroute the coolant line all featured the same problem - they required macan owners to carefully cut the OEM parts to re-use the OEM plastic fittings; which still posed the threat of breaking with age and heat.
While this repair is NOT the official Porsche recommended repair procedure for a broken plastic coolant vent line, it has been proven to be a solution that is expected to last longer than the official repair itself. In addition, this kit will save a considerable amount of time and labor since the intake manifold does not have to be removed.
Please note: It is still very important to follow the Porsche recommended procedure for flushing and/or bleeding the coolant in your Macan after the installation of this part.
Purchase of this part constitutes acknowledgement that this aftermarket kit is simply an alternate method of repair, and not directly recommended by Porsche. Install at your own risk.
